We have an extensive and in-depth knowledge of Factory Mutual/FM Global standards, as our President, Angel J. Valles, was a Loss Prevention Consultant with FM Global for 5 years. During his tenure with FM Global, Angel had a vast territory encompassing Roswell (New Mexico), Durango (Mexico), and Midland/Odessa (Texas). Angel also consulted facilities located throughout Latin America , including Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, and Honduras. With his knowledge and experience, Angel brings a competitive edge to GCS that few consulting firms can offer, and our clients find most beneficial.

GCS offers its services both in English and Spanish. Our strategic location, the southwest region of the United States, along with collaboration with professionals throughout Latin America, has permitted GCS to obtain a global understanding of the needs and priorities of Latin America in the area of fire protection and loss prevention.

Code Consulting

Global Consulting Services can assist clients by providing a complete and comprehensive understanding of fire protection code requirements. We help our clients understand both the implications of the code, as well as how to come into compliance with the code. All consultations are documented via a formal letter to the client.

Fire Protection Design Services

Global Consulting Services provides complete fire protection design services. Full or partial fire protection systems can be completely designed, and the client will be provided with all necessary fire protection drawings and associated hydraulic calculations. Once again, the design can be based on the fire protection standard specified by the customer.

Fire protection design criteria

Global Consulting Services can provide specific design criteria for a complete or partial fire protection system. The standard design criteria are again based on Factory Mutual standards; however, other design standards such as the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) can be utilized at the customer’s request. The design criteria are communicated to the customer via a formal letter.

Fire protection installation review

Global Consulting Services can review newly installed fire protection systems and existing installations. The installations are reviewed to ensure compliance with customer-specified standards. The results of the review are communicated to the customer via a formal letter. Copies of the review letter can be forwarded to any and all additional parties requested by the customer at no additional cost.

Fire protection project assistance

Global Consulting Services provides project assistance for new fire protection systems to be installed in Mexico and throughout Latin America. We have a list of contacts that includes the most reliable and reputable general contractors, construction firms, and fire protection contractors. Global Consulting Services can serve as a coordinator between the customer and the associated contractors, as well as provide English / Spanish translation services. In addition, we can conduct regularly scheduled project site visits to review the progress of the fire protection installation.

Fire protection plan review

Global Consulting Services has plan review services available. The scope of these services is to review submitted fire protection drawings to ensure their compliance with specified standards. Unless otherwise specified, the submitted drawings and associated hydraulic calculations will be reviewed for compliance with Factory Mutual Standards; however, the drawings can be reviewed for compliance with any other standard specified by the customer. The results of the review will be communicated to the customer via a formal letter, and submitted drawings will be stamped with the Global Consulting Services logo to indicate they have been reviewed.

Standard and customized training courses

Global Consulting Services offers a wide variety of standard and customized training courses. The courses are designed to be complete in as much as they entail both lecture and hands-on experience (where applicable). All course participants receive a certificate to acknowledge participation and completion of the course. All necessary materials to be submitted during the course are included in the original cost.

Loss prevention evaluations for industrial facilities

Global Consulting Services offers loss prevention evaluations of industrial facilities. The scope of the evaluations is to provide the customer with an in-depth look at the potential loss exposures to their facility, as well as to provide practical and economically feasible solutions.

The following services are available as annual service contracts

Property Conservation / Loss Prevention Inspection Program

Global Consulting Services offers property conservation / loss prevention evaluations of industrial facilities. The scope of the evaluations is as described above. The annual service contract consists of three inspections. There is an initial inspection, a follow up inspection midway through the year, and a final inspection near the end of the year. In addition, a week’s worth of training and consulting is included in order to resolve any concerns surfaced by the evaluations. All evaluations, trainings, and consulting will be documented via a formal report. Once again, a standard evaluation and report format are available; however, both can be customized to meet specific customer’s needs. Customization can and does include translating reports in Spanish.

Fire Protection Equipment Inspection and Preventive Maintenance Program

Global Consulting Services offers inspection and preventive maintenance services for fire protection equipment. The scope of the services is to ensure the equipment is in proper operating condition. Service items are based on NFPA and Factory Mutual standards. The annual contract consists of weekly, monthly, and annual inspections and preventive maintenance. All services are documented via a formal report. A standard service and report format are available; however, both can be customized to meet specific customer’s needs. Customization can and does include translating reports in Spanish.

Fire Protection / Loss Prevention Technical Assistance Program

Global Consulting Services offers fire protection and loss prevention technical assistance. Under this annual contract, technical issues / questions will be resolved via telephone or e-mail on an as-needed basis. Formal documentation will be provided as necessary in English and/or Spanish. Site visits will also be conducted when required.
